People keep on asking EAD.

1. Is EAD filing changed?
--Yes, New rule discontinues issuance of interim EAD by USCIS local offices as of Ocotober 1, 2006. New Rule also discontinues acceptance of 765 by local offices as of October 1, 2006.
-- all new interim EADs(EACs) will be issued from a central facility.

2. Where should I file my 765 application?
-- to the Service Center processing your Pending 485.

3. When should I file initial or renew an expiring EAD?
--Best: at least 100 days before expiration.
--or 3 Months and 10 days ahead.

4. Can I still have an interim EAD issued if the new EAD is not received before October 1, 2006?
--Yes. If
--you have filed your 765 in June 2006.(meaning your 765 has been pending over 90 days).
--Go to USCIS local office by info pass to get an interim EAD (Usually valid for 240 days) before October 1, 2006.

5. If I filed my EAD after June 2006, what should I do?
-- Wait but can still go to local office by info pass to check 765 status if it is not issued after 90 days.
-- local office may still speed up the process by making inquiry with the Central Service Center.
-- Central controlled EADs should be issued within 60 days.(it is the best scenario "dreamed" by USCIS)

6. What is likely my status if EAD is not received after EAD expires?
-- Cannot work technically during this period.
-- however, the new EAD is valid for 1 year starting from the expiry date. Therefore, once new EAD is received, literally could be authorized to work from that date.
