I had H1b visa from univiersity that expired on June 2006. On march 2006, I started my job in a big company. At the time, I cannot get H1b for 2006, so I used EAD card (expired Nov 5, 2006) based my I-485 pending.
My company applied H1b for me on June 29 and I received the notice last week like this

"the petition has been approved for the H1b class valid from 10/01/2006 to 7/30/2009. It has been determined that the name worker are not eligible for the requsted extension of stay.

Even though the workers are ineligible for an extension of stay, they may depart the united states and then apply to reenter in the status shown above. Since the petition indicates the workers will not require a visa to reenter the US, we have notified the port of the entry or pre-flight insepction office listed above of the approval of the classification.
...
If the named worker are going to apply for a visa at a port of entry or pre-flight inspection office other than the one listed above, the petitioner should file form I-824, application for action on an approved application or petition, with this office to request us notify the new port.

The approval of this visa petition does not in itself grant any immigration status and does not guarantee that the alien beneficiary will subsequently be found to be eligible for a visa, for admission to the US, or for an extension, change, or adjustment of status.

Class consulate or POE: H1b, beijing.
OCC code: 022."

I want to go to canada for H1b extension, how risky it is to do so without AP? Should I file AP and EAD right away and wait until they get approved before I go to Canada? I am worry that I may not be able to renew my EAD in time before my current one expired(Nov-5-06). Any suggetion?
