I have Canadian citizenship. I have been on H1B for almost 5 years. There is only one year left and there is no hope for green card for me here. So , my plan is heading back to Canada.

My H1B visa is, of course, expired a long while ago.
My 1-94 is valid after extending my H1B.

If I go back to Canada for job interview without applying H1B visa, can I still come back? what should I say at the border when re-entering US?

I heard that if visa application was refused, I would have trouble of re-entering US. So, I want to avoid the trouble.

Anyone has similar experience?
BTW, my H1B is on my Chinese passport, not Canadian passport.
