My wife is currently H-4 and we have filed I-485 (concurrently filing with EB-2 based I-140), I-765 and I-131 March 2007. It is expected that her EAD should be available soon. Also I am the primary applicant, and my wife is my dependent, my job should be stable, and I don't want to change job (at least before obtaining green card).

Now my wife is doing job hunting, and she is facing the problem of whether using the to-be-available EAD + her presnet H4 or applying a new H-1B. Applying for H-1B shouldn't worry her much as she used to be a cap-constrained H-1B, and has no cap issue now.

Under our situation, which one is a better choice, H-1B or using EAD? H-1B will give one better indenpendence, while EAD is more flexible. Also I heard if one's 485 is denied, the H-1B will also be invalidated, correct?

Many thanks for your hints.
