I filed 485 in May 2005 in the US. It was based on an NIW 140 which was approved in March 2005. Two years passed, my 485 was still pending.
I am working in academia. Last month, I received a job offer from University of Melbourne, Australia. I would love to take the offer to work with the professor in Melbourne. However, I also would love to get the green card in the US so that I can come back easily. Can you suggest me how to do? I heard about Consular Processing. If it applies to me, what procedure should I follow? When filing I-824, should I refer to the approved I-140 or pending I-485.
