申请批准和签证生效之间的间隔时间，申请人不得不停止工作，可能还需要按照规定离

I am now working through septemeber 2008 using academic H1B. If my industry H1B gets approved, say in May, will this mean that I have to stop my current work or depart U.S.A? It does not make sense to me. Thank you for your time.
