I meet the similar problem with "paulwxc" when filing I485. My graduate study was supposed to terminate on 05/14/2006, and that was on my and my kid's I-20. However,when I applied OPT, the university provided a I-20 indicated that my program finished on 12/31/2005 (on the first page), and OPT started on 1/1/2006 and terminated on 12/31/2006 (on the last page). My EAD card was from 1/1/2006 to 12/31/2006 too. After OPT I changed into H1B started on 1/1/2007, and the kid's H4 started at the same time. Thus, there is a gap of the kid's paperwork from 05/14/2006 to 12/31/2006. Are you following me here? Sorry for so many dates that may confuse people. Thank you very much for the advice.
