I hope to get some help here. We received a notice from the lawyer, who says that our applications for Cannadia Permanent Resident are recently approved and we need to pay the landing fee of $16,00 in total and prepare landing.
We are wondering that if we should continue the process: pay landing fee and become Canadia Permanent Residents, according to our current situation.
Our applications for U.S. permanent resident (U.S. Green Card) are also just approved. We have got the stamp on passport this month, although we have not physicaly received the green card (it takes up to 9 months to receive the card).
Here are my Questions:
1. Since we are U.S. permanent residents already, should we still need to get Cannada green card?
2. What are the Advantages of holding both U.S. and Canada Green Card?
3. What are the Disavantages of holding both U.S. and Canada Green Card? Is there any trouble we may have due to the dual status?
4. Is there any dealine for paying landing fee after the approval notice is maided (when must we make the decision?)
5. If we decide to stop the process for Canada Green Card, what are the formal procedures to do that? Withdraw the case or just simply ignore the landing notice (no payment for landing)?
Initially, we applied Canada Green Card as backup due to the long process of U.S. Green Card. We never thought that we will get both within one month. What should we do? Any suggestion or information sharing would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanking you in advance!
