I am a new H1 holder and going to back to China for a couple of weeks in the end of April. I haven't been home many years and miss my home so much.

I will get H1 visa stamp for returning US in Shanghai. The first question is: Does anyone know usually how early I need to make an appointment for visa interview in US Consulate in Shanghai? One month in advance is enough? I have to get an appointment set from here.

The second question: according to US embassy's requirement, I must bring the original I-797 and CERTIFIED copies of H1B application materials to interview. When the lawyer gave me the copies, he only copied his business card on the first page of the materials, which is an authorization letter that states he is my H1B application agent. Is that enough? Or do I have to get the copies notarized?

Please share you info., if you have the same experience.

Thanks a lot!
