Don't get me wrong, I am definitely a city girl through and through. However, somehow with COVID and the inability for overseas travel, I have increasingly become attracted to the idyllic country lifestyle. Not to mention the countless books I have read romanticising the journey of renovating run-down French Chateaus, and living amongst nature blissfully ever after... There is something enchanting about the rolling hills, historic villages and dining alfresco amongst vineyards. And don't forget the charming gardens and their far-reaching, inviting views - it's hard not to fall under nature's spell. To be able to leisurely explore tree-lined farms and antique stores, finding hidden gems for a quick bite or coffee would make a memorable and refreshing weekend getaway, away from the frantic pace of city life.
A colleague of mine recently showed me some photos of her recently purchased charming cottage farmhouse in Victoria. I was sold after one look at the pretty climbing roses entwined on the front gate.
Plus, who doesn’t love a country wedding?
