这家租客是三个月前搬进来的。我看到以前的房东出租广告上是说不许养宠物，他今天给我发邮件说他看了心理医生了，被诊断得了抑郁症，医生建议他养只猫。他说他有养猫的经验会好好照顾的，请问应该同意吗？
他有老婆和三个小孩还不够吗？一定需要一只猫才能够得到安慰？
看到旧帖建议收400 non refundable deposit和每个月40美元的宠物费。但还是担心得不偿失，这个房子是二楼全部是地板。看到文学城上很多旧帖都在抱怨说租客留下的猫尿味去不掉。想不太明白为什么会那样？我们家已经养了很多年的猫了，有时候猫也会在家具或者地板上撒尿，但我们一般都会很快给清洗干净，从来没有味道去除不了的情况。会不会帖子上说的那些租客是猫尿以后好几天甚至几个礼拜都不去清理导致味道去不掉？
如果我拒绝他，可不可以简单的回答说我们不容许养宠物就行了？像他这种被诊断为抑郁症医生建议养猫的会不会不能这么操作？
刚查了一下，加州要求必须同意？而且不许额外收费？？？
Landlords may not require applicants or residents to pay a pet deposit for a service dog, psychiatric service dog, or support animal, even if they do so for other applicants or residents.
A support animal, on the other hand, must alleviate one or more identified symptoms or effects of a person's disability, but there is no requirement that a support animal be individually trained or certified, or that it be a dog.

When the disability or need for reasonable accommodation is not obvious, a landlord may ask the person with a disability for documentation that he or she has a disability and a disability-related need for the service dog or support animal.
