Summary for QQQ as of 20220712
Signals favoring bulls but likely shifting to downside:
- Uptrend remained intact for mid-term time frames, i.e. daily and 2-D; However, short-term (1-H, 2-H and 4H) trend turned to downside, indicating possible trend reversal
- VXN and VIX have risen significantly; Both VXN and VIX closed above 9-EMA warning line, showing a big warning sign;
- Both QQQ hourly EMA and daily EMA have crossed down for two days in a row, suggesting a possible trend reversal to the downside;
- STO Sell signals (1-H, 2-H, 4-H and daily) have shown up, showing a huge warning sign;
- MACD remained above zero line for mid-term time frames, including daily, 2-D and 3-D; but short-term (1-H, 2-H and 4H) MACD have crossed down
- New bearish signs for today:
- QQQ daily STO Sell Signal has appeared; which is the third time this year. The previous two times (1/5/2022 & 4/6/2022) have led to huge downside;
- VXN and VIX closed above 9EMA, indicating potential volatilities ahead;
- Downtrend has began for 4-H timeframe;
Signals favoring bears remained unchanged:
- Long-term is still in the downtrend (3-D and weekly)
- DXY which has been negatively correlated with equities made an ATH today, again;
- QQQ closed at 286.24, which is still far away from 100 EMA (315.61) and 200 EMA (331.22)
In summary, the uptrend is likely reversal, with some significant warning signs. As of now, it should be very cautious and the strategy should avoid significant downside.
