The bill was not voted since house Republican leaders abruptly called it off. The bill would trim $50 billion in spending but moderate Republicans resistedthe proposed cuts to a range of social programs, including Medicaid, student loans and food stamps.

House Majority Leader Roy Blunt, R-Missouri, admitted the leadership team was "not quite where we need to be to go to the floor." He said the vote was postponed because representatives needed to get back to their districts for Veterans Day events.

Blunt said he needed to do some work getting members "more comfortable" with the bill, and he said he would bring the measure back for a vote next week.

So, we still have a few days to communicate our concerns over the retrogression issue to our congressmen.

Pleas send your emails and faxes this weekend so they will be able to understand us before the vote.
