I am current on H1B with a company and my wife is also on H1B with another company. Since I got an assistant professor position at a university, we are planning to move in this August. Since I am going to do a H1B transfer, my wife is going to quit her job and change her status to H4, so she can move with me and try to find a job over there. My questions are:
1) Can my wife adjust her status to h4 on the same application of me for h1 transfer? Basically, could we use the same form (just list her as my dependent there) ? Or she need another separate form (what form?) for adjust her status?
2) Does she need to pay a separate application fee for her change of status?
3) Is it necessary to apply H1 transfer (OR my wife's H4) using premium processing? (because I am worried there is only three months left before the Fall semester for me to start) Why?
4) How only does h1 transfer take without premium processing?
