I checked my case status online today and was told a denial notice of my I-485 was mailed out yesterday. I understand from your previous post that the only option I have right now is file to reopen my case. What I don't quite understand is the purpose and probability of getting my greencard by doing so. My lawyer wrote a responding letter to the local USCIS last month and explained my misdemeaner charge for marijuana did not violate any state and federal law, rather is was just a violation of city code, so it should not be used to against me in my I-485 application. Well, the USCIS denied my case anyway. If I file to reopen my case and nothing has changed this time because my arguement will be the same, why will the USCIS change their decision. Don't really see the reasonning and rationality behind it, so I am hoping you will shed some light. Thank you so much for your help again!
