My family are in U.S. I work in one company and my wife stay at home. We have a friend who is in charge at another company (a pure U.S. company with very good record), and this company can sponsor for my wife to go through PERM, I140 & I485 to get green card through EB2. The nice company could get some work for her to do now but they do not require she must work for the company now or in the future. We do not want my wife to work for the company at all because first she needs to take care of children at home, and second we appreciate the help but do not want to bother them too much. We just want to get green card through the company's help.

My questions, if everything goes smoothly for us/the company, i.e. PERM, 140 & 485, must my wife start to work for the company and get paid the then prevailing wage at certain point of time? If yes, when? Can she wait until she receives the green card and find a job in another company or even just never work but stay at home?

Thank you for any serious advice.
