one week ago i received from the local office a lettle saying my granted alien registration card will be mailed to me within 6-8 months (see my previous paste). today i receive another letter from the vermont service center:
case type: creation of record of lawful permanent residence
notice type: welcome notice.
letter content:
Your application for permanent resident status is being processed, if approved, a permanent resident card will be mailed directly to you from our immigration card facility. if you donot hear from us within 30 days of the date shown on this notice, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.
my questions are: 1. Is this another approval notice? 2. Why they used "if approved"? what is the possibility for "if not approved"
