My friend's company lawer is about to file 485 for him but refuse to file EAD. The reason from the lawyer is that my friend has H1B already. (Maybe the company is afraid an EAD is easier for my friend to jump so they don't want to apply EAD for him.)
Can my friend file EAD by himself? If so, when can he file the initial EAD? After getting the 485 receipt? Can he do it online? And how much is the cost?
