I am going to loss job and I am wonderging how should deal with job verification since pd is very near to current.

I have a frident, who is a faculty, promise me he can provide a job offer letter for postdoc postion, the area will be similar to my I140 claimed.

My question is

1: Is a offer letter engough to deal with potential job verification from USCIS? We made agreement I will only use this leter to deal with RFE and won't really go there to work
2: Is post doct offer ok for NIW 485. It is not permenent.
3: Who shoud sign the leter? Can this faculty as PI sign it? He said he can sign the letter or the postdoc office can sign this letter.
