I plan to change from H-4 to F-1 and enroll in college in Fall of 2007. My problem is my I-94 has an expiration date of 4.13.2007. When do colleges usually issue I-20? If I am able to get the I-20 and the I-539 change of status form by 4-13-07, will I be alright? How long does it take INS to process this type of appliations usually? What will be the effective date of my F-1 status? Will it be the first day of school or will it be 4-14-07? I am worried about becoming out of status in between. If you have any knowledge about this, I'd be grateful if you could reply to my post. Thanks a million.

I-20 3~ 5 days. F1 needs 2~3 months to get approval.
