A Trail of Musings

 

The heavens might have rained on some July 4th parades but, on the whole, we Americans held up fairly well. That said, rolling dark clouds will be back, sooner or later. 

 

Incidentally, on the creek trail that graces our community, folks keep talking about the weather, even though everyone has already listened to the same weather forecast before heading out. Given such consensus building among us, I forecast that rain-or-shine will remain the talk of the town for ages to come. Just kidding, of course.

 

Seriously, we have souls from the past sharing our trail. They can't care less about the weather, however. Walt Whitman is one of them, thanks to my silent invitation. I like this free-verse poet who, by virtue of his Leaves of Grass, tells me a lot about his fellow Americans trailblazing through their Civil War years. 

 

I believe there’s always a rejuvenated America taking shape ahead. Shall we walk on?

一梦一生人，前生不过尘。

今生尘不染，白得水云春。

 

（二）

五更风雨九州知，光复人间我独思。

一抹灵窗疑燕影，青天不晓待何时？

芒鞋轻万里，在后几神骢？

行乐天涯始，歌闲尘路终。

缘来诗化雨，梦许墨飞虹。

出彩笺留白，扬眉古国风。

 

（四）

同舟怜有一株兰，两岸迎香峡渐宽。

听浪浮生濡耳易，吞江渡世涤肠难。

水深自古多沉剑，风怒而今唯摘冠。

散发天涯凉薄夜，拈来笑是钓鳌竿。
